Bi(OTf)3 and SiO2-Bi(OTf)3 as effective catalysts for the Ferrier rearrangement.
Bi(OTf)3 and SiO2-Bi(OTf)3 are found to effectively catalyze the Ferrier rearrangement of tri-O-acetyl glycals with different alcohols providing an effective route to 2,3-unsaturated O-glycosides with good anomeric selectivity and good to excellent yields after short reaction times.
متن کاملThe Amadori Rearrangement for Carbohydrate Conjugation: Scope and Limitations
The Amadori rearrangement was investigated for the synthesis of C-glycosyl-type neoglycoconjugates. Various amines including diamines, amino-functionalized glycosides, lysine derivatives, and peptides were conjugated with two different heptoses to generate non-natural C-glycosyl-type glycoconjugates of the d-gluco and d-manno series. With these studies, the scope and limitations of the Amadori ...
متن کاملACTIVATION PARAMETERS AND RELATION OF ACTIVATION ENTROPY WITH SOLVENT POLARITY IN THERMAL REARRANGEMENT OF 7,7-DICHLORO-[a,c]- DIBENZO-[4,1,0]-BICYCLOHEPTANE
Thermal rearrangement of 7,7-dichloro-[a,c]-dibenzo-[4,1,0]-bicycloheptane (1) to 5,6-dichloro-5Hdibenzo-[a,c]-cycloheptene (2) was studied in the solid phase and in solvents with different polarities. Thefirst-order constants at various temperatures for the rearrangement process were evaluated from theabsorption time data. The activation parameters for this rearrangement were obtained from the...

Background: Chromolaena odorata (C. odorata) is a medicinal plant with hypoglycemic effect known in traditional medicine. The present study investigated the in vitro antioxidant and in vivo anti-hyperglycemic effect of the methanol root extract of C. odorata in rats. Methods: Phytochemical compositions were evaluated, using standard procedures while the antioxidant activities were examined, us...
متن کاملCyanuric Chloride as an Efficient Catalyst for the Synthesis of 2,3-Unsaturated O-Glycosides by Ferrier Rearrangement
Cyanuric chloride has been found to be an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of 2,3-unsaturated O-glycosides from the reaction of 3,4,6-tri-O-acetyl-D-glucal and a wide range of alcohols in dichloromethane at room temperature. The experimental procedure is simple, and the products are obtained in high yields.
